At 25 years of age, Jonny Suporn aka “Jonny Hockey” has more than 7 years of professional training experience in the sport of ice hockey. Growing up in Trumbull, Connecticut, Jonny has been playing the game competitively for over 15 years. He started his youth hockey career in the Greater Bridgeport, CT area and ended up playing Tier 1 AAA youth hockey for the Mid-Fairfield Blues out of Stamford, CT (AYHL). His 1997 Bantam Major team went on to compete in the Tier 1 USA Hockey National Championship in Buffalo, NY.
Jonny was then recruited to play Division 1 Connecticut High School Hockey for Notre Dame of Fairfield Catholic High School in Fairfield, CT (CIAC). Jonny was in the varsity starting line-up in just his sophomore year. He then served as captain his Junior and Senior years.
After graduating high school, Jonny had multiple offers to play Junior hockey. Instead, Jonny and his family decided not to push off his education and attend Merrimack College for a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
During his time at Merrimack, Jonny began instructing private lessons on the weekends. Through word of mouth referrals, his name started to spread which ultimately turned into Heads Up Hockey, LLC.
Jonny has been able to maintain his love for the game in the most fulfilling way possible: by helping players of all ages take their game to the next level and play with their HEAD UP.
